How to read the rates, payments and offers on this site.
How we are paid
The Actual Best receives compensation from the companies whose offers we show.
That compensation does not decide which offers you see or the order they appear in. We show each lender's lowest-rate offer for your answers, and we order them ourselves, lowest rate first.
You are not charged anything to see offers.
The offers we show are not every loan or lender available to you.
About these rates
The annual percentage rate, or APR, is what a loan costs you over a year. It is worked out from the amount you borrow, the charges on the loan, how long you take to repay it, the size and timing of your payments, and what is left at the end.
Rates vary. What you are offered depends on your credit, how much you want to borrow and other things each lender weighs, and the lowest rates go to people with the strongest credit. The smallest and largest amounts a lender will lend, and the rates it may charge, also vary by state and by lender.
The lender must show you the APR before you take the loan. Read that lender's own terms in full first.
An example, not an offer. Borrow $5,000 over 36 months at an APR of 10%, and you pay $161.34 a month. You repay $5,808.24 in total, of which $808.24 is interest. There is no down payment.
Your own figures depend on the amount, the term and the rate a lender offers you.
About offers
Every offer here is based on what you told us. Nothing has been checked yet.
Rates, fees and terms are not guaranteed. A lender can change them, and may not lend in your state or for the kind of loan you asked about.
Seeing an offer here does not mean you will qualify for it, or for the rate and terms it shows. The lender decides that when you apply.
If a lender did not make you an offer, they may not have been able to tell from your answers whether you qualify. No credit decision has been made. You may still qualify with one of the other lenders we work with.
